5th International Conference on Public Procurement in Warsaw
The 5th International Conference on Public Procurement was held on
the 26th and 27th April at the Sheraton Hotel in Warsaw. The Conference
ended one-year Polish Presidency in the Public Procurement Network,
which the Public Procurement Office in Poland took over in March 2006
after the French.
Apart from handing the Presidency over to Portugal, the main goals of
the conference were:
- Exchange of experiences (the presentations covered inter alia such topics like: promotion of SME’s in public procurement, innovation in the public procurement or the control of contract award procedure,
- Sum-up of the past year’s activity of the PPN by presenting the Questionnaire on Cross border cases (litigation in which the PPN contact points were involved in), Country surveys – selected inquiries carried out by some Member States in order to exchange the specific information, which are also published on the PPN website.
During the session of the fifth conference within the PPN, the
Questionnaire on functioning of the PPN was presented to the
participants. Its task is to receive the opinion of the PPN members on
the activity of PPN to date and suggestions on its functioning in
future. The results of the Questionnaire will be presented during the
Portuguese Presidency.
